A Sad Day For Investors

So finally it has arrived! After quite a bit of delay I now have a pile of copies of Du Ska Inte Tro Det Blir Sommar; beats, breaks & big smiles vol. 2 laying on my floor. I must say that I'm really pleased of the way it all turned out, both when it comes to layout and content. Sure, everything didn't go exactly as I'd planned in the beginning but it has been a learning period for me. As I've mentioned earlier, most of you reading this won't get to hear the record. It's a bit sad, but that was really the only way I could do it. I made an limited edition and then I had to limit the number of potential listeners.
First I was playing around with the thought of an alternative releaseparty for the album. A barbeque without both liveperformences, a record for sale or dj's. But since the weather here has been really crappy all summer that idea was cancelled.
To all of you involved, the record is on it's way to a mailbox near you.
Now we'll see what the next project will be. Any suggestions?
Finally I wanna give a big shout-out to all people involved!

The Cover

So finally here's the frontcover to Du Ska Inte Tro Det Blir Sommar. Not made by Self Advocate and friends as promised but rather courtesy of Jeff Merryweather. Hope you like it.

Snoochie Bootchies

Speaking of the compilation I have both some good and some bad news. The bad news is that there will be no tracks from Porter, Misto Soon or Neila. All this because of computer problems. A real shame, but I'm quite sure that this won't be the last time that you read about a cooperation between me and Porter. The good news is that the work on the comp is moving along nicely. While Self Advocate, his brother and Welsed is working on the cover I'm taking care of the process of making the CDs. I can't wait to see the end results!

The English Version

So now I expand beats, breaks & big smiles with an English section. Some people may wonder why. Since I started to work on the Du Ska Inte Tro Det Blir Sommar compilation I've gotten more and more involved with English speaking people, and what is then more natural than to give them a chance to read what I write about it all? I have written a blog for them earlier on my Myspace page, but now it's time to move it over here. I will from the get-go say that people will find a lot of spelling and grammar errors in this section. But hopefully you will be able to understand me anyway. I will keep writing my regular blogs in Swedish so this section is really only for my different projects. We'll see how it all goes as we go along.
I will transfer my blogs about the compilation from Myspace so that it's all in one place. Just have patience with me my friends.

No Need For Pictures

Well, I'm just taking the time out to let you all know about the development of the compilation Du Ska Inte Tro Det Blir Sommar; Beats, Breaks & Big Smiles vol. 2. At the moment almost all the material is in my hands. Due to some technical difficulties my man Porter haven't had the chance to get his computer together yet which means that at the moment his track, his remix of a track by Neila and his track with Misto Soon isn't done yet. I hope we can make it happen soon because time is slowly starting to run out.

Otherwise things are looking good. Self Advocate is working as we speak on the cover to the album together with some friends of his and I have high hopes for the outcome! His musical contribuations which I recieved the other day is the bomb! The same goes for the outro produced by PZ.

Just to let you get the feel for the compilation (which in the end became a double album...) I'll list all the artists that will be on the album (and without inserted links):

PZ
Self Advocate
Bullit
Comb
Pelpa Karnaval
Hickory Thrill
Two Ton Sloth
Scott Da Ros
Witness
Emil Brikha
bleubird
eyenine
Listener
Viktor Sjöberg
Dynamo414 feat. Spoonfull
Radioinactive
Enigmatical
telephone jim jesus
Wordburglar
SJ Esau
Anvil
Abzorbr
Thee More Shallows
22:22
Dez & Nobs
Noah23
Ghettosocks
Face Candy
Kapten Röd
Norwood View

A long and good list of artists if you ask me, but I guess I'm a bit partial...

I just hope that it all will turn out good in the end, I'm hopeful. And don't think that this is the last you will hear from me. I already have some loose plans for the fall/winter. Stay tuned as they say

A Dedication

I know that the compilation isn't finished yet, but I just have to take this time out to pass out some shout outs. Everyone involved in this record will forever have a big thank you hanging over their shoulders, but I just like to give a special shout out to a few people who really has gone that extra mile and to whom I'm so grateful! They come now in no particular order. First I like to give thanks to my man Porter who has been a great support since day one and who will bless this compilation in many ways! Tack mannen! Next up is Self Advocate who has also given me more than I could possibly ask for. I don't know what to say except: One love and that good moods makes great music! I can't forget about Pelpa Karnaval who also have been very kind to me during this time and whose support I truly appreciate! Merci beaucoup! And finally my man PZ/Panzah Zandahz from Two Ton Sloth. Thanks for going that extra mile! Big up!

Two Ton Sloth

My God! I just have to say that Two Ton Sloths contribution to Du Ska Inte Tro Det Blir Sommar is smoking! Sooo good! Brad Hamers and PZ/Panzah Zandahz is definitely makin' my day! And that's not all! PZ has also promised to make a little outro to the compilation. I feel blessed man!

New Month

Now I know exactly which artists that are going to be on the compilation. Some of the ones who promised didn't deliver but on the other hand some new ones did so everything turned out for the best. Yesterday I recieved material from Noah23 and Listener. Quality stuff for sure. Now I'm only waiting for some material from a couple of artists that I gave some extra time since they're delivering exclusive stuff. But in one week I can present a final list of the artists on the album. Until then I can give you some other good news. The old gay hiphop icons Backroom Matches are back again! Now under the name B M and with the addition of Klittan behind the production. How does it sound? Lovely!

Endemik Music

Now there is less than one week until the deadline that has been set for the compilation. After that it's down to me to really get shit going. Looking forward to it. The only uncertainty at the moment has to do with the artwork to the cd. Don't really know what to do with it, looks like I'll do it myself. We'll see.

The latest additions are coming from Canada and Endemik Music in the form of one track from bleubird and one from Scott Da Ros feat. Filkoe176. Thanx Scott!

Hickory Thrill & Kaptenen

Krister & Sarah of Stockholm-based duo Hickory Thrill are now set to bring happiness to the compilation. Always nice to have really old friends taking part of this!

And I'm also extremely pleased in announcing that my man Kapten Röd will bless this little endevour of mine! Thanks my friend! See ya at the releaseparty!

Bullit & Pelpa Karnaval

New addition to the upcoming compilation is:

Pelpa Karnaval (FRA)

(Just as a small detail I find it interesting that bigger artists from abroad is more eager to be on this record than smaller, local ones. I wonder why?)

On another note, the album of the week is Bullitville by the Swedish group Bullit. It's the bomb! Of course they are also representing on the compilation!
